Public Knowledge® is currently looking for an outgoing, self-directed, motivated person to join our team and improve our written marketing and promotional communications. The copywriter will support our Marketing Team throughout the Continental United States. Public Knowledge® assists public-sector clients with the planning and implementing large projects and programs, mostly centered on Information Technology. Most of our work is in Health, Human Services, and Transportation. The successful candidate will be responsive to time-sensitive and deadline-driven efforts, flexible in meeting multiple priorities, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Job responsibilities include:

  • Write copy for a variety of media including social, print, video, events, and online
  • Work with the Marketing Team to produce relevant resources for clients and consultants including Flyers, White Papers, Case Studies, How-To Guides, and Scripts
  • Track and monitor brand messaging consistency across the firm
  • Collaborate with consultants, business development, and legal to assess messaging needs
  • See written projects through, from inception to deployment
  • Work with Marketing Team to coordinate messaging requests and organize administrative tasks for asset creation
  • Review and edit writers' final drafts to ensure they are free of errors
  • Ensure the writing is easy to read and fits the firm’s editorial style
  • Contribute to the enhancements of writing and visual appearance standards
  • Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by others
  • Assist in developing visuals by providing written language for graphics, such as drawings, diagrams, and charts
  • Ensure adherence to the firm’s brand and writing style guides and templates
  • At times, edit content for facts, dates, and statistical accuracy, including reviewing sources and conducting independent research
  • Work with the Proposal Team to develop graphics
  • Work with the Proposal Team to perform preliminary research on potential competitors, recent events, or other pertinent information related to a particular response
  • Assist with FOIA requests and management
  • Other duties as assigned
  • 3-4 years’ experience in content marketing or copywriting
  • Appropriate college degree and experience writing and editing professionally
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to demonstrate brand voice
  • Experience with standard software writing tools, such as Microsoft and WordPress
  • Demonstrated proficiency in persuasive writing using conversational English
