POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for programming, setting up and operating various CNC Mills, lathes and manual
metal working machines. Provide programming, setup, operation and machining expertise in support of the Engineering & manufacturing departments for the fabrication of parts. Evaluate and implement new or improved manufacturing processes.
 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyze drawings, blueprints, and design data to determine best manufacturing process, CNC machinery programming, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.

  • Programs, sets up and operates precision CNC &
    manual machining centers for a variety of operations.

  • Evaluates current manufacturing processes for improvement
    and new processes for applicability & feasibility.

  • Develop part quality inspection forms for new &
    existing parts.

  • Oversees area quality with a variety of micrometers,
    calipers, gauges & CMM.

  • Conducts training in the proper operation of CNC &
    manual equipment.

  • Conducts training in quality control procedures and
    use of gauges, calipers etc.

  • Communicate recommendations to modify processes to
    improve productivity and quality.

  • Performs basic preventative maintenance of machines.

  • All other duties as assigned by manager.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Knowledge
    and proficiency in Mastercam software or equivalent.

  • Ability to program & setup CNC Mills, Lathes.

  • Knowledge in Microsoft products Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

  • Ability to make sound business decisions.

  • Good verbal communication skills.

  • Requires accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Experience in using CMM, micrometers, calipers and gauges.

  • Ability to follow directives.
    Associates Degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
    High School Diploma

  • 3-5 yrs experience in CNC programing

  • 5+ years’ experience in a CNC machining environment.
