JOB SUMMARY


The Channel Manager of Execution will be responsible for the development and success of The Wine Group portfolio of brands. The Channel Execution Manager will also be accountable for leading selling activities and management of The Wine Group, Inc. portfolio of brands through wholesaler execution in Northern California.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for annual sales volume, accounts purchasing, and points of distribution of The Wine Group portfolio of brands
  • Customer Focus: Lead selling of existing and new portfolio items in on and off premise accounts, with and without the distributor present (70% On Premise / 30% Off Premise Focus). Build portfolio presence in key on and off premise accounts. Execute educational trainings of staff at accounts and merchandize accounts to promote portfolio items
  • Distributor Focus: Work directly with salespeople and sales managers within accounts to achieve and exceed sales objectives. Conduct distributor team meetings, general sales meetings, trade events and brand launch meetings. Communicate with distributor regularly to support and promote our portfolio
  • Consumer Focus: Conduct demos and tastings at accounts to sample our portfolio items to consumers
  • Attend dinners and outings with team and/or distributor
  • Manage budgets in the following categories: item pricing; distributor incentives; travel and entertainment expenses and other departmental expenses
  • Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Forecast monthly sales
    • Monitor inventory of our brands and manage accordingly
    • Provide recap and follow-up from weekly distributor work-withs and independent visits to accounts
    • Process sample requests
    • Complete expense reports with Travel and Entertainment expenses on a weekly basis
  • Average Monthly Time Management Projections (90% In Market Selling; 10% Administrative):
    • Selling: actively selling, promoting, and educating The Wine Group items while interfacing with distributor and/or customers and/or consumers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA degree or equivalent experience required
  • Two or more years of sales experience in the alcoholic beverage industry or related business with knowledge and passion for both commercial and premium wines
  • Must be 21 or older at time of hire
  • Intermediate wine knowledge or associated certifications preferred
  • Must maintain high standards of professionalism and be consistent with follow-up. Self-motivated, and highly organized with an ability to work both independently and within team environment
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, adept in building PowerPoint presentations, sell sheets and proficient in Excel
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to travel with overnight stays as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to travel frequently among home office, client sites, and industry meetings/events
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds (weight of case of wine) at varying frequencies
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in an office environment
