JOB SUMMARY


The Finance Manager position at The Wine Group offers a unique and challenging experience for someone who is interested in finance and business operations, and who is excited to add value to the company. This position is part of the Finance team, and partners with Operations, Vineyards, Accounting and other administrative departments and senior executives to develop and manage 3 budget cycles (Operations, Vineyard, Calendar). The Finance Manager will demonstrate mastery of the operational chart of accounts and serve as the “go-to” resource for operations personnel. This position is responsible for managing monthly expense reporting and variance analysis, leading meetings and presenting findings to ensure financial statement accuracy. The Finance Manager transforms budgets into standard costs as it relates to product costing and monitors for updates. This position reviews Vineyard profitability and reports findings to senior management. The position works collaboratively with other cross-functional leaders throughout the company who are dedicated to value-creation, efficiency, cost-mindfulness, and integrity.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Be the key resource in understanding monthly expenses, ensuring that management has actionable information to drive business decisions
  • Demonstrate mastery of operational chart of accounts and ensure consistency across facilities
  • Own monthly reporting process-compile data, develop expense summaries and variance reporting for senior management, lead meeting reviews and make adjustments to ensure financials are complete and accurate
  • Lead 3 budget cycle processes (Operations, Vineyards, Calendar) and meet with cross functional leaders to develop budgets for presentation and review with senior executives
  • Monitor and report on Vineyard profitability, perform relevant analyses and make recommendations to senior management
  • Accurately develop standard costs from budgets and review and make changes as necessary
  • Answer inquiries from managers and create monthly general ledger reclassifications based on reviews of transactional data


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Three to five years experience, CPG industry preferred, Alcoholic Beverage experience a plus
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel knowledge including advanced formula creation and conditional formatting, advanced pivot table skills, template automation, and able to navigate spreadsheets quickly and accurately
  • Able to work independently, execute on multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities
  • High aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure
  • Collaborative leader with ability to communicate effectively

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Primary job functions are within an office environment
  • Limited travel to all facilities, with possible overnight travel (1 to 2 times per year)
