Vice President of Sales
As the VP of Sales, you will be an integral part of our Sales team. You will be responsible for leading a multi-state territory, international accounts, continually prospecting, identifying, and securing new client accounts that increase logos, revenue, and profitability for the company. You will work closely with the customer success team to introduce existing customers to the new solution and the sales enablement team to connect customer needs to solution functionality. With your leadership skills and insight into market trends, you will bring those together to marshal a successful team. Additionally, you will be leading six account executives to meet and exceed goals.
Develop plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals
Provide timely, detailed, and accurate sales forecasting
Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement Work closely with the Client Success Team to maximize customer relationships and upsells
Participate in hiring, training, and developing new members of the sales team
Ensure proper use of Salesforce with full engagement from all Account Executives
Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives
Manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction
Define sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements where and when required
Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions
Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful support, channel and partner programs
Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or related field or equivalent work experience.
Successful experience managing a remote based sales team for at least 3-5 years selling into the higher ed industry with SaaS based products.
Track record of recruiting high performing sales executives is a must.
Working in a collaborative sales environment is necessary as our sales motion requires cooperation with other sales channels and resources.
Successful experience monitoring and evaluating sales rep progress against stated expectations, in addition to aligning and changing behavior with performance expectations
Experience managing key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunities
Successful experience utilizing a CRM to manage team sales tasks, pipeline, and closing data
Experience providing status reports with market and customer feedback to the corporate leadership team
Demonstrated ability in all aspects of sales leadership
Desirable Software experience
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft suite
CRM tools like Salesforce
Marketing tools like Uberflip
Gong for call recording and transcription with AI for improvements
