Recovery Area Manager

The Recovery Area Manager will be responsible for managing the black liquor recovery cycle and steam generation in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner. The candidate must have passion for the health and safety of our employees, exhibit strong leadership skills, and possess solid process and technical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a safe and caring culture within the power department
• Ensure environmental compliance with all regulations
• Engage and develop crew leadership
• Provide world class customer service to other departments of the mill
• Mange the operation and reliability of the recovery boiler, evaporator, demineralizer, and auxiliary systems.
• Ensure the mill’s recovery area operates in accordance with the company’s policies including and not limited to the set of technical policy manuals.
• Provide guidance to the mill to achieve minimum energy costs
• Interact effectively and cooperatively within all levels of the organization
• Drive cost reduction efforts in the recovery and evaporator areas.
• Coordinate all aspects of outages (planning, execution, reliability, cost, etc.)
• Support the Project Development Process, working closely with Project Engineering during the FEL process.

Knowledge and experience

• Technical or relevant Bachelor’s Degree
• 5-7 years of manufacturing experience in Power, Utilities and Kraft Recovery
• Proven leadership of direct reports
• Proven ability to motivate employees and build strong teams.
